Nathan Cirillo, the importance of this game between the Montreal Alouettes and Ottawa Redblacks transcends football as it is an example of Canadians coming together and showing our resilience and that our way of life will not be changed. Ottawa has struggled to win or score points, but we will see if the emotions can spur both these teams on to play their best while the nation watching.

The Calgary Stampeders have already clinched the West Division and will be sitting many of their starters (including Jon Cornish), but are still favoured by 11.5 points over the free-falling Saskatchewan Roughriders who have now lost 4 straight. However, Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has yet to personally beat Saskatchewan since they eliminated him and the Stampeders from last years Western final. Mitchell has already stated his intention to win, and the oddsmakers have spotted him 11.5 because the ‘Riders are 0-5 against-the-spread in their last 5 games.

Last week the Toronto Argos were atop the East Division, now in Week 18, they are battling for their playoff lives in a must-win game against Hamilton. The Ticats have not played well on the road this season going 1-6 on the year. Although they did play well in the return of Zach Collaros to Toronto where the Argos pulled out a stunning comeback for a 34-33 win. These teams always seem to put up lots of points, especially in Toronto, and the total of 52 is the highest on the board in Week 18.

Winnipeg only have one win against West Division opponents this year, and that came against the BC Lions way back in Week 5. So, even though the Bombers are out of the playoff race, they still have the chance to play spoiler against a team looking to avenge an embarrassing home loss.
