Hamilton -3.5 vs Winnipeg +3.5 Total Points 51.5

The Hamilton Ticats face another struggling team when they visit Winnipeg as 3.5 point favourites over the Bombers at Investors Group Field. The betting money has been coming in on Hamilton partially because of news that WR Andy Fantuz will be making his return. Winnipeg is also going through a quarterback controversy and have benched Justin Goltz in favour of Max Hall despite the team naming Goltz as the starter for the rest of the season. Max Hall played in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals and will be making his first CFL start. We should see a lot of Bombers RB Chad Simpson because the Hamilton defence allows a league high 135 rushing yards game.

Montreal +11 vs Saskatchewan -11 Total Points 54

After firing head Coach Dan Hawkins, the third stint of the Jim Popp era began in Montreal began as a disaster with the team being embarrassed at home by the Argos. The 38-13 loss came in such a lopsided fashion it was shocking to the Montreal fans, who had envisioned Jim Popp as some kind of saviour. However, Jim Popp is now 10-14 in regular seasons games as a head coach of the Alouettes and now they must travel to Saskatchewan and take on a CFL powerhouse amidst a sea of green jerseys. The Riders are 11 point favourites coming off a tough loss to the division rival Calgary Stampeders.

Calgary +3 vs British Columbia -3 Total Points 54

The BC Lions know that they are in a West Division dogfight and a loss to Calgary means they will have to dig themselves out of a deep hole. The Lions have already come out and said they will treat this clash with Calgary as if it were a playoff game. The line opened with the Lions as 2.5 point favourites and CFL bettors have driven that up to -3. Calgary RB John Cornish sat out of practice on Tuesday which gave Stampeder fans a scare, but it was only to give Cornish time to recover from the heavy workload in last weeks win over the ‘Riders. Cornish participated in full practice on Wednesday and is expected to be a go in Vancouver.

Edmonton +7.5 vs Toronto -7.5 Total Points 54

The Edmonton Eskimos have had a rough season thus far and their problems were only compounded when linebacker JC Sherritt was sidelined with a broken thumb. Sherritt is a key player in the Edmonton defence which has kept the Esk’s in games while the offence struggled. Despite the injury, betting money has still been coming in on Edmonton driving the line down from +8 to +7.5 for the visiting team which could be attributed to the success Edmonton has had against Toronto in the past as they are 4-1 straight up in their last 5 visits to the Rogers Centre.
