Denver Broncos vs Seattle Seahawks Superbowl Prediction

superbowl 58 betting prediction

The Seattle Seahawks being so close to Canada means there are a lot of fans out west that already have a rooting interest when they take on Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in Superbowl 58. But when it comes to the Superbowl, nearly everyone has a betting interest so check out a breakdown of Seattle vs Denver and our prediction of who will win.

The main story going into Superbowl 58, aside from the epic rant of Richard Sherman, has to be the weather and what effect it will have on the game. Usually, the Superbowl is played some place warm, but this year in NJ the elements could play a big factor, especially on the passing game of Peyton Manning.

Even though the Broncos play in sub-zero temperatures when at home in Denver, Peyton Manning has notoriously struggled in frigid weather. If the high powered passing game of Denver cannot get off the ground then they will be in for a tough night against a stout Seattle defense that relies on turnovers, finishing at a league high +28.

Led by cornerback Richard Sherman, the Seattle Seahawks have held opposing quarterbacks to an aggregate passer rating of 63.4. So, if Peyton Manning has problems throwing the ball the Broncos will have to rely on the running attack of Knowsean Moreno and Monte Ball.

Moreno sustained a rib injury last game against New England and was a limited participant in practice. Although he is expected to start, he was never able to take over a game to begin with and acted as a setup for Manning and the play action pass. Monte Ball is a strong runner who has been prone to fumble the ball which could prove costly against a team that feeds of turnovers.

At a ranking of 19th in the league, Denver does not have an elite defense and they have relied on outscoring their opponent. Their defense has been exposed at times during the season. Seattle has a capable QB in Russell Wilson along with workhorse RB Marsawn Lynch who are capable of putting up the points necessary in a tight game.

Not that this should effect the outcome, but Toronto mayor Rob Ford has gotten in the spirit by wearing a Denver Broncos jersey emblazoned with the number 74, which belongs to lineman Orlando Franklin that grew up in Toronto. Rob Ford has been a notorious jinx causing the playoff collapse of the Toronto Argo’s by merely showing up at the game.

Our Pick: Seattle +3
