UFC 161 betting odds canada

UFC 161  is airing on PPV but the pre-lims can bee seen for free on Rogers Sportsnet and in total there are seven Canadian fighters on the card to root for!  History will also be made in Winnipeg when the first ever womens MMA fight goes down between Canadian Alexis Davis and Rosi Sexton.

Alexis Davis is from Port Colborne, Ontario and was a former competitor in the Strikeforce womens division along with Ronda Rousey. Alexis began training MMA purely by chance when as a teen she wandered into a martial arts gym in her area called “Dayboll Jiu-Jitsu” and  just fell in love with the sport. Here she hopes to display her talents in front of her home country and use Rosi Sexton as a stepping stone on her way to a eventual title shot against Rousey. The odds maker has Alexis Davis as a -400 favourite.

Also in action is Sam “Hands of Stone” Stout, who is another Ontario native and is known for putting on exciting fights. Stout has won the “Fight of the Night” bonus 5 times! Stout is a veteran who made his debut in the organization way back at “UFC 58: USA vs Canada” and now he will be facing an American fighter making his debut at UFC 161. Sam Stout is a favourite at -300 odds over James Krause.

Ryan Jimmo was born in Saint John, New Brunswick but has fought out of Edmonton for a long time. Many may remember Jimmo from his days with Edmonton based MMA promotion “Maximum Fighting Championship” (MFC) where he was the light-heavyweight champion. Many time he was referred to as the “Fighting Freemason” by colourful MFC announcer Mike Schiavello. The last time Ryan Jimmo fought in Canada was his UFC debut in Calgary and he won that fight in spectacular fashion by knocking out Anthony Persoh in 7 seconds! The odds maker has Ryan Jimmo as a -300 favourite over Igor Pokrajac.
